Abraham goes soft hands on Scotians

Colton Abraham switched it up a bit going "soft hands" instead of fists of furry as he tallied his first career hat trick against the Pictou County Scotians.

The Jr Miners wasted no time getting on the board on Sunday Night in Trenton as Neville tickled the twine just a minute and 15 seconds into the contest.  Halfway throughthe period, Miners tough guy Colton Abraham would score his first of the Night giving the good guys a 2-0 lead.  With just over a minute remaining in the first, always dangerous Lucas Eshlemen scored to get the Scotians within 1 going to the dressing rooms.
5 minutes into the 2nd, Abraham would stun the home team with his second of the night, again giving the Miners a 2 goal cussion, but just over 3 minutes later, Scotian Craig Matherson slipped one past Nick Walsh to get back to within 1 goal for theremainder of theperiod.
Both teams played a lot of back and forth hockey in the 3rd until with 5 1/2 minutes remaining in the game when the big guy, Abraham, would cap of his big night with his 3rdgiving the Miners the 4-2 win.
Nick Walsh stopped all but 2 shots fired his way for the W while Scotians Donlevy was tagged with the loss.
Miners will return to action on Saturday October 4th in Glace Bay as they will take on the visiting Valley Maple Leafs at 7:30.
