Sad to Say Farewell

2014-11-07

It is with a heavy heart that the Jr Miner Organization bids a fond farewell to Overager Colton Abraham who begins a new chapter of his life wearing the jersey of the East Hantz Penguins.

Big #61 played his first game in the league as a Miner on 24 Sept 2011 and has been a staple member of the Jr Miners ever since.  Described as one of the best "TEAM" players for the club, he was always happy to do anything he was asked, and do it with a smile.  From day 1, he always gave 100% to the team and his community through vollunteering.

This season, Colton has been 1 of the teams 5 Overages, yet in the league, we can only have 4 on the roster. Therefore 1 person would need to be cut.
One of the toughest descions the staff would have to make since becoming a franchise, Colton made the "TEAM" choice and helped out the staff once again.

This past spring, he completed his schooling to become an electrician and moved west forthe summer to work as an apprentice, yet in the fall he was once again home for the Miners to play, even though he didnt complete his appenticship.  Although he tried, there he could find no shops in the area to complete his apprentice work, untill now.
Making the TEAM choice, Colton cut himself as the 5th overager and with the assistance of the Miners, as well as the new home Pens, will move to the HRM to work for an electrical company there and complete his apprenticeship as well as dress in the final Overage spot for the Pens.

With a heavy heart,we wish Colton all the best in his new home with the East Hantz Penguins.
We will see you again when the Pens come to town for the first game of 2015 on Saturday January 5.
