Miners Sail past Pirates

The boys stretched the winning streak to 8 games while shooting the Pirate Ship full of holes on Saturday Night at the Bayplex.

The victory improved Glace Bay's record to 25-6 for 50 points and a 12-point lead over the Pictou Scotians in the Sid Rowe Division of the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.
The Miners have just three matches left in the 34-game schedule, while Pictou (18-6-1-1) still has eight games to play.
The Pirates (11-16-1-0) sit in third place.
Brendan MacLean scored a pair of goals for Glace Bay, while captain John-Michael Walsh, Harry LeVatte and Chris Ross rounded out the scoring.
The Pirates' lone goal was netted by Quin Marshall.
The Miners fired 46 shots at Strait goalie Colin Hooper, while Glace Bay's Scott MacDonald turned aside 24 shots.
Miners will return to action on Saturday 31 Jan at the Bayplex to take on the Antigonish Bulldogs.
