Surette & Lynk join Jr. Miners Coaching Staff

The Kameron Junior Miners have added to their coaching staff for the 2019-2020 hockey season. Sydney Academy Wildcats Head Coach Sheldon Surette and former Glace Bay Panthers coach Darryl Lynk will join the Junior Miners for the 2019-2020 season.

Surette who was instrumental in bringing the Sydney Academy Wildcats back into the Cape Breton High School Hockey League last season will continue his role with the Wildcats while also serving as an assistant with the Junior Miners. “Sheldon is someone that adds a great deal to our staff and gets the most out of his players “said Miners Head Coach Ryan Boutiler.” When I first met with Greg & Francis (Greg Mayich- Director of Hockey Operations, Francis Kennedy- Manager) in July, Sheldon was someone that we all wanted to be a part of this program and we could not be happier that he decided to join the Junior Miners.

Lynk a former assistant coach with the Glace Bay Panthers worked his way through the Glace Bay Minor Hockey Association before joining Boutilier and the Glace Bay Panthers in 2014. “Darryl is a excellent coach that brings a great deal of experience to the table and someone that I enjoyed working with in the past" said Boutilier

Tyler MacPhee will also join the Junior Miners in a role as equipment manager. MacPhee worked with the Glace Bay Panthers for 10 seasons.
