The Miners were unlucky in Overtime on both Friday Night versus the Pirates as well as on Saturday Night versus the Bulldogs.
On Friday night the Glace Bay Miners traveled to Port Hawksbury to face the Strait Pirates in NSJHL action but came home with a heartbreaker 2-1 loss in overtime off the stick of Pirate Mike Shannon. The scoreing was opened at the 4:04 of the second by Pirate Jeremy Sheppard. The Miners then tied the game at the 2:53 mark of the third off the stick of Eugene Fraser, where it would stay until the OT Goal.
On Saturday at home, the Miners again were bitten by the OT Bug, as they fell to the Antigonigh Bulldogs by a score of 6-5. With no scoreing in the first period of play, the Miners fell to a score of 5-2 before the 10 minute mark of the third but rallied the troops and fought back to tie the game at 5-5 and send it into Overtime before #9 David McCarthy of the Dogs finnished the game.
The Miners will again host the Strait Pirates this coming Saturday, 27 November at the Bayplex before they travel to Trenton on Sunday to take on the last place Scotians.
