2011-01-04The Glace Bay Jr Miners will start off the New Year with a 2 Game Weekend Friday Jan 7 on the Road to face our Island rivals, the Strait Pirates and then at home on Sat. Jan 8 vs. the Pictou County Scotians.
The Glace Bay Jr Miners will start off the New Year with a 2 Game Weekend Friday Jan 7 on the Road to face our Island rivals, the Strait Pirates and then at home on Sat. Jan 8 vs. the Pictou County Scotians.
This Friday, the Miners will travel up the road to face the Pirates in the next installment of the "Battle of Cape Breton". Thus far, after 3 games played against one another, all of which have been close / tight contests, the miners hold a 2-1 games lead. The Pirates at present hold down the #2 spot in the Sid Rowe Division with 29 points, just 3 back of the Division leading Blues.
On Saturday Night, the Miners will return home to the Bayplex to face off against the Pictou Scotians. After 2 meetings with each other, the teams are tied with 1 win a piece, and the Miners are hungry for more.
