Running Through the Drills

2011-09-11

The Glace Bay Jr. Miners training camp resumed today with the coaching staff running the boys though some more conditioning drills.

The player hopefulls are getting stronger by the day and continue to get thier "ice" legs under them.  Conditioning is a big part of this league, it doesn't matter what team you have, if you can't compete for a full 60 minutes of play you don't win game.  Thats not going to be a downfall of this team, we will continue our players conditioning through-out the year.

The players will be on the ice again on Tuesday night at the Canada Games Complex for a red / white intersquad game.  After which the staff will be making another round of cuts in preparation for next weekends exhibition games against the Pirates.  Coming into next weekend, we hope to be down to about 26 - 28 players and 3 - 4 goaltenders.....play the 2 games versus the Pirates, then make our final round of cuts and be ready for the first reagular season game.
We are expecting these guys to show us everything they have over the next week and make our descision difficult.  If they don't, they won't be playing here.
