Miners Fall To League Leading Royals

In Kentville the Windsor Royals improved to 7-0-0 with a 5-1 win over the Glace Bay Junior Miners.
The Royals led 1-0 after one on an even-strength goal by Jake Galbraith. David Hayes and Joe MacDougall picked up the assists.
In the second the Royals exploded for four unanswered goals to take a 5-0 lead after two. Ryan Getson had a pair with singles going to Jory Uhlman and Erik Jackaman.
In the third Brett McCarron spoiled Royals goaltender Jake McKendry’ s bid for a shutout with the only goal in the final period.
McKendry picked up the win for the Royals handling 37 shots while Keith Boon was tagged with the loss while facing 43 shots.
