Royals Defeat Miners

October 29, 2011. Saturday night, at the Bay Plex in Glace Bay, in one of two Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League games the league-leading Windsor Royals edged the Glace Bay Junior Miners 2-1.

Rookie Joe MacDougall tallied both goals for Windsor while goaltender Mitch Culley kicked out all but one of Glace Bay’s 26 shots.

 

Jordan Langlois scored the lone Glace Bay goal.

 

The teams played a scoreless first period with the Royals holding a 13-9 shot advantage. In the second MacDougall had the only goal of the period with the Royals once again out shooting the Miners 17-6. In the third the teams traded goals; first, MacDougall with his second then Jordan Langlois for Glace Bay.

 

Once again Miner goaltender Keith Boon held his team in the game handling 36 shots.

 

With the win the Royals improve to 9-1-1 while the Junior Miners fall to 1-8-1.
