2011-11-07
November 4, 2011. Friday night, at the Antigonish Arena, in one of three Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League games the Sid Rowe Division Leaders Antigonish Bulldogs edged the visiting Glace Bay Junior Miners 2-1 in overtime.
In Antigonish Ryan Smith's goal broke a 1-1 tie, halfway through the 5-minute overtime period, to lift the Antigonish Bulldogs past the Glace Bay Junior Miners.
The teams traded first period goals with Ryan MacDougall getting the Miners on the board first before Ricky Chisholm tied the game at one.
Derrick Tait picked up the win for Antigonish while Keith Boon was charged with the tough luck loss while making 36 saves.
The Miners next game is tomorrow night when they face the East Hants Penguins for a 7:30 pm start at the Bayplex. Tomorrow's game will be Veterans Appreciation Night where we will take a moment to recognize the dedication and thank the men and women who have served for us.
