Junior Miners Blast Blues

At the Bay Plex in Glace Bay the surging Glace Bay Junior Miners picked up their 6th straight win at home and their 11th win in the last 12 games by walloping the Cumberland County Blues 9-2.
The Miners were led by captain Brett McCarron with two goals and an assist. Sam Johnson, Kyran Fogarty, Corey Langlois, Sean Ferguson, Brett Simmons, Chris Ross, and RJ Barrett all added singles.
Geoff Burke and Jordie Shaw replied for the Blues and for Shaw, who also picked up an assist, he increased his league-leading scoring totals to 57.
Scott MacDonald picked up his 9th win on the year.
The two teams meet again Sunday afternoon at 2:00 for the second game of a back-to-back affair which will be Minor Hockey Day where any child wearing their hockey jersey accompanied by a adult will be admitted FREE!
