Pirates Beat Short Staffed Miners
2012-02-17February 17, 2012. Action Friday night, in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League, saw the Strait Pirates beat the Glace Bay Junior Miners 8-3.
At the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre the Strait Pirates had an easy time with a short-staffed Glace Bay Jr. Miners team. The Pirates were led by David Greencorn and Jeremy Sheppard each with a hat trick. Eric MacKinnon and Marc Bourgeois picked up single markers. Bourgeois also chipped in with a pair of assists. Nick Allard pitched in with 3 assists.
Jordan Langlois, Brett Simmons and Chris Ross answered for Glace Bay.
The teams were tied at one after one; 6-2 Pirates after two and the Pirates added a pair in the third.
Brennan Laite picked up his 21st win of the season, best in the league. Scott MacDonald was tagged with the loss.
