The Junior Miners added more depth to their lineup as there was a NSJHL dispersal draft  held earlier today in Trenton. The Miners selected overagers Jake McKendry and Logan Phillips with their picks.

During today's meeting, the Windsor Royals franchise applied for and were granted a 1 year leave of absence as voted on by the league Board of Governors.

As a result of the leave, the NSJHL Consitution dictates that all players must be dispersed immediately to the remaining NSJHL teams via a draft. The Miners had the 5th and 15th picks which were based on last years final regular season standings.

Jake McKendry, a 21 year old goaltender from Barrie, Ontario was chosen 5th overall. Recently, McKendry was named Best Goaltender for the NSJHL while also being named the top goaltender in the Fred Fox Division for the NSJHL's First All-Star Team. This season McKendry posted a 1.50 GAA and .950 SV% while picking up 13 wins, 5 losses along with 5 shutouts.

With the 15th pick, the Junior Miners selected Logan Phillips, a 21 year old center who hails from Kentville played in 31 games for the Royals last season where he recorded 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists) and 45 penalty minutes.
