Junior Miners Double Bulldogs

2013-01-12

At the BAYplex in Glace Bay Saturday night, the Junior Miners picked up their league leading 17th win of the year to remain the top team in the circuit with most teams having less than 9 games remaining.

Jordan Langlois led the way for the Junior Miners with a pair of tallies to go with an assist giving him 42 points on the year which is good enough for second place in league scoring. Sean Ferguson and Tyler Pyke also had a 3-point night on single goals and 2 assists each. Ryan MacDougall and Chris Ross fired the other Glace Bay goals. Brett Simmons chipped in with a pair of assists for the winners.

Adrian Cristiano, Mike Tobin and Mitch Gammon replied for Antigonish.

The Miners led 3-1 after one; 5-2 after two with each team trading single goals in the final period.

Jake McKendry picked up his 11th win of the year while Patrick McNamara, who faced 54 Glace Bay shots, took the loss.

The Bulldogs, who are trying to hang onto the last playoff spot in the Sid Rowe Division, are back in action Sunday night when they host the Brookfield Elks.
