Scotians Earn OT win Over Miners

In Glace Bay Daniel Thomsen’s goal at 2:07 of the overtime period gave the Pictou County Scotians a 4-3 win and a lock on third place in the Sid Rowe Division.
The two teams played a scoreless first period with the Junior Miners controlling the shot clock at 19-10.
In the second the Scotians took a 2-0 lead on goals by Riley MacIssac and Brandon MacKenzie before the Miners struck for 3 straight to go up 3-2. Andrew MacPhee, Sean Ferguson and Kraig Pasher all scored for the Miners who out shot the Scotians 15-13 in the period for a 2-period total of 36-23.
Lucas Eshelman picked up the only goal early in the third period to draw the Scotians at three.
Ben Goss registered his 11th win of the year while Scott MacDonald took the loss for Glace Bay.
The Miners look to rebound this Friday as they look to extend their lead in the standings over the Strait Pirates.
