Junior Miners Nip Pirates

Saturday night the visiting Strait Pirates came to town for the fourth installment of the Battle of Cape Breton.
At the BAYplex in Glace Bay Sean Ferguson broke a 2-2 tie with his second goal of the night just over 6 minutes remaining in the game. Jordan Langlois collected his 25th tally of the year to round out the scoring for Glace Bay.
Brennan Delaney and Kenny Routledge replied for Port Hawkesbury.
Glace Bay led 1-0 after one; the teams were tied at one after two with the Junior Miners outscoring the Pirates 2-1 in the third.
Jake McKendry picked up his 12th win while Luke Jessop was charged with the loss.
The Junior Miners improve to 18-4-3-1 and remain the top team in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League with 40 points. The Pirates slip to 15-10-2-0 and fall 8 points behind the Junior Miners.
Next up for the Miners are back-to-back games next Saturday and Sunday when the Cumberland Blues come to town. Come out and support YOUR Miners!!!
