Miners Back To Winning Ways Over Elks

At the BAYplex in Glace Bay the Glace Bay Junior Miners erased an early two goal deficit to come back and defeat the Brookfield Elks 5-2 in a rare Wednesday night game and improve to 23-5-3-1 for 50 points.
Chris Ross and Tyler Pyke paced the Miners with a pair of markers each. Kraig Pasher started the comeback with his 8th goal of the year after the Junior Miners fell behind 2-0 early in the opening period.
Liam Carr and Jordan Lauther had the goals for the Elks who still hold onto first place in the Fred Fox Division with 41 points.
Jacob McKendry picked up his 15th win for the Junior Miners making 24 saves while Spencer Scott suffered the loss for the Elks. Scott was replaced in the 3rd period by Dennis Nolan who made 15 saves in relief.
The teams were tied at two after one; 5-2 Glace Bay after two and scoreless in the third.
Final shots were 41-33 Glace Bay. The Eastern Shore Jr. Mariners are in town Saturday night for the last regular season game before playoffs start. Come out and cheer on YOUR Miners!!!
