Junior Miners Outgun Mariners
2013-02-18At the BAYplex in Glace Bay the Junior Miners continued to show their dominance at home as they outscored the Eastern Shore Junior Mariners 10-6 despite being outshot 48-43 by the Mariners.
Saturday night was Shelly Syms Appreciation Night and a big crowd was on hand to watch the Junior Miners put an end to the Mariners playoff hopes.
Kyran Fogarty sparked the Junior Miners offense with a hat trick while captain Ryan MacDougall and Kraig Pasher each notched a pair of goals. Kevin Cormier, Ryan Bursey and Tyler Pyke all added singles. Jordan Langlois pitched in with 6 assists for the Miners to put him in a tie for the league league with 61 points with Brandon Verge of the Pictou Scotians.
Brad Beckett with a pair, Scott MacDonald, Brett Baker, Kory Tate and Tyler Harvie all scored for the Junior Mariners.

Jacob McKendry picked up his 16th win of the season while Luke Zareski took the loss.
