Miners Take Game #1

In Glace Bay the long awaited playoff series between the Glace Bay Junior Miners and Antigonish Bulldogs finally got underway, at the BAYplex with the Junior Miners drawing first blood with a convincing 6-2 win.
In Glace Bay Jordan Langlois paced the Junior Miners with a pair of tallies while Tyler Pyke, Ryan Bursey, Kevin Cormier and RJ Barrett all added signle markers.
Will Bursey and Fraser White replied for Antigonish.
Veteran Jacob McKendry picked up the win for the Junior Miners while Patrick McNamara was tagged with the loss.
The teams played a scoreless opening period with the Bulldogs up 15-13 on the shot clock.
The Junior Miners charged ahead 3-1 after two then added 3 in the third.
Final shots were 44-36 Glace Bay.
Game #2 in this Sid Rowe Division Semi-Final is slated for tomorrow night at 7:30 pm at the Antigonish Arena.
