Miners Complete 4 Game Sweep of Bulldogs

Friday night, in Antigonish, the Glace Bay Junior Miners trounced the Antigonish Bulldogs 7-2 to sweep that Sid Rowe Divisional Semi Final in four games.

At the Antigonish Arena, Jordan Langlois and Sean Ferguson provided all the Glace Bay offense with Langlois firing home 4 goals while Ferguson pitched in with 3 tallies to go with 2 assists.
 
Tim MacDougall scored both Antigonish’s goals.
 
The Junior Miners led 1-0 after one; 4-1 after two then outscored the home team 3-1 in the third.
 
Jacob McKendry picked up his 4th win of the playoffs handling 25 of 27 shots while Keegan Butler took the loss on 36 shots.
 
The Junior Miners now await the winner of the Strait Pirates and Pictou County Scotians which is now tied at 2 games apiece.

The Miners would like to take this opportunity to acnowledge the coaching staff of the Antigonish Bulldogs, with under a minute left to play in the game, they called a time-out.  At this point, the staff settled down the players after a hard fought game and allowed them to get emotions in check so there would be no on ice incidents to end a memorable season.
 
The Antigonish Bulldogs as well as the Miners would like to say thank-you and good luck to the twoBulldog overagers, captain David McCarthy and Steven MacGillivray. The Bulldogs thank them for wearing their uniform the last 4 years and wish them well in whatever they pursue.
