Miners kick Dogs to the curb

The Jr Miners picked up their league leading 23rd win and 49th point of the season in their come from behind win against the Antigonish Bulldogs.

At the Antigonish Arena the Glace Bay Jr. Miners spotted the Bulldogs a 2-0 first period lead then tied it at two in the second. In the third the Bulldogs jumped up 3-2 before the Jr. Miners fired three unanswered goals, in the span of five and a half minutes, to take the game 5-3.
In the first overagers Fraser Whilte and Tim MacDougall each had a power play marker plus an assist. Riley Cameron and Liam Murphy also picked up an assist.
Shots in the period favoured the Bulldogs 10-6.
In the second Kyran Fogarty from Drew Wilcox and Dylan Bork from Tyler MacLeod and Jordan Langlois had the teams tied at two with the Jr. Miners ahead 13-5 on the shot clock for a 2-period total of 19-15.
Rookie Ryan Keefe restored the Bulldog lead at 3-2 before Drew Wilcox, Kyran Fogarty, with his second of the night and Lincoln Bradley all scored in the span of five minutes and forty-five seconds to grab the win for the Jr. Miners. Langlois picked up his second assist of the night.
Nick Walsh picked up his 14th win of the year facing 21 shots while Brandon MacDonald took the loss on 30 shots.

The Miners will now face off against the East Hantz Penguins who sit in 2nd in the Fred Fox division, tonight at the Bayplex.
