Miners drop a close one to go 1-1 on weekend

In a game which seen 28 penalties and 11 goals, the Jr Miners came up just a little short against the Liverpool Privateers on Saturday Night on the road.

For the second night in a row on the road the Miners fell behind early and mounted a huge 3rd period comeback, but this time came up a little short.
The Miners went down 2-0 in the first on goals by Slaght and Clark, but the Miners held a slight edge on the shot clock of 10-8.
The second period also belonged to the Privateers on the scoreboard as they would go up 5-2.  Goals in the period scored by Slaght, Miners Bursey, Agostini, Spence, and Miners Wilcox.  Miners again held the period edge in shots by 11-7.
In the 3rd period, the Miners poured it on and scored 3 goals to the Privateers 1 but came up just a little short.  Miners struck first in the period off the stick of JM Walsh, then Slaght would get his 3rd of the night.  3 minutes later, Osmond would find the back of the net and Wilcox potted his 2nd of the night with .39 rmaining, but the boys just ran out of time.
The Miners will look for revenge next Saturday 27 Sept 7:30 at the Bayplex when the again go up against Liverpool in the seasons home opener.
